Microsoft is to relaunch its search engine calling it Bing.com. Microsoft says it promises to make search more simpler aiming to overtake Yahoo! in search engine popularity.
Google currently has more than 64% of the search market in the US, followed by Yahoo at 20% and Microsoft at 8.2%.
Bing wil group searches, for example if you search for a product, you will also receive reviews, accesories and online shops selling it too.
The whole idea is to reduce clicks by the user.
Paul Stoddart, Microsoft UK search lead, “Forty percent of search queries go unanswered. There is something missing here and a big consumer need.”
He added: “We are pulling information that we know people use every day.”
“People keep building global search engines but doing something for the UK is important,” he said.
The UK version of the site will launch later then the US site.
new – Microsoft’s new search engine, Bing, has launched a mobile edition. The mobile search engine lets users specify a location and see relevant search results. Users can also browse pre-determined search options like directions, traffic, weather, and movies related to that location. Mobile users should surf to m.bing.com for access to the site.
