Computer geeks across the UK, rejoice – for National Coding Week 2019 is shortly upon us!
As a digital channel marketing agency, our resident developers and coding experts are invaluable to us. They enable us to continue delivering our outstanding channel marketing services without a hitch, build client or partner websites to the highest standards, and create the programs and tools that let us work efficiently and effectively for our partners and clients.
To put it short – no digital or channel marketing agency could do what they do without the hard work of talented developers.
National Coding Week: The Aim
If you have (or know) a child/teenager, chances are they have a smartphone/tablet that they would spend all their time on if they could.
Anyone born after around 1995 has grown up alongside technology – meaning they’re generally more informed, more aware, and more in-tune with tech.
Like actual verbal languages, the younger you are when learning a coding language, the faster you’re likely to pick it up. This is why many teenagers and young adults can code in modern programming languages just as well as those who have been coding for decades.
This is all well and good. But what about the adults who may have missed out on the “digital generation”?
This is where National Coding Week comes in!
“The aim of National Coding Week is to give adults the opportunity to learn digital skills”
There are over 10,000 coding clubs and digital meet-ups in the UK alone. Some are aimed at introducing children to coding, whereas others are specifically aimed at adults who may feel left behind, and want to gain a better understanding of coding languages.
During the week there will also be several taster sessions for parents, teachers, business leaders, people with disabilities and even retirees – check your local library, schools or community centres to find a session near you.
This is a great way for you, your children or other family members to get involved with programming (who knows – it might even lead to a lucrative career!)
National Coding Week runs from September 16th – September 22nd, 2019. For more information, click here.
